An additive for plaster comprises pref. 30-35% thickener with delayed dissoln. pref. 20-25% water retention agent. pref. 20% setting retarder and pref. 25% adhesive. Pref. the thickener is starch, the water retention agent is methyl cellulose, the setting retarder is hide gelatin or hydroxypropylcellulose and the adhesive is lyophilised bone glue. The additive is used in amts. of 1-2% in the plaster compsn. which can be applied with a float or by spraying. The additive reduces the mixing operation and increases the work range significantly.
