The hydr auric pump is partic. intended for height adjustment of a hospital bed. It comprises a housing (4) acting as oil container, a cylinder (11) with inlet valve (23) and piston (9), an outlet line (13) with valve (18) and a return lne (19) with spring-loaded ball valve (21) and actuating rod (28). The piston is operated by a striker (7) on the shaft (6) of a pedal (5) and the valve (21) rod (28) by a projection (8). The outlet valve (18) is a multi-edged prism fitting with clearance in the line (13) and having a groove at its lower end containing an O-ring as seating ring.
