The parent patent described a battery contg. a sealed compartment in which the negative electrode is located and hydrogen is liberated. The compartment includes a valve for removing the hydrogen to an external atmos., the valve being made of a porous element based on carbon. The novelty in the addn. is that the flow of electric current from the negative electrode to the outside of the compartment occurs through the porous element. The object of the present invention is to improve the sealing of the gas cavity in the battery described in the main patent.
