A machine for making patisserie prods. esp. waffles, wafer biscuits etc. is of the type which comprises two horizontal conveyors, spaced one above the other and with adjacent, parallel runs advancing in the same direction at synchronised speed. The upper conveyor has an attached top section of a waffle mould and the lower conveyor has the corresp. bottom section. Just before the two conveyor bands bring the mould sections together to form a closed mould, a filling head spreads paste mixt. in the lower section. The closed mould passes through a cooking station, then the mould sections part at the end of the conveyor run, discharging the cooked waffle. The upstream end of the lower conveyor is now extended well beyond the corresp. end of the upper conveyor. The extension carries the bottom section of the mould beneath the filling head. The extended lower conveyor provides a filling zone of adequate length so that a correct quantity of paste mixt. can be evenly spread in the lower mould section. All waffles are complete and of selected thickness. Mould preheating improves spreading, cooking and prod. quality.
