The road surfacer recycles bituminous surfacings where the binder has lost its viscosity with age. It uses both the old stone and binder by heating and mixing in situ and adding a regeneration agent, the percentage of which is a function of the penetration of the old binder for which charts are given. Mixing laying and compacting occur using the same machine. A wetting agent is added that is stable at high temperatures, the additive can be an aqueous solution, and the dose linkage can be mechanical, hydraulic or electronic.
