The revolving index drive has a fixed base (1) which supports two parallel columns (2) mounted diametrically across a platform (4) resting on the plate (5). The platform has a central axis (8) which locates the crown (10) centrally. The crown has vertical holes off centre and two radial pins (13). The sleeve (15) has edge notches (17) which lock the sleeve in position with a detent ball (18). The sleeve has two helical grooves (14). The cam (15) rotates when the platform moves axially.
