The conveyor includes a load-carrying trolley (3) provided with a bracket (33) at one end which contains aligned holes on a transverse axis (80). A hook (81) for retaining the load is mounted on one side of the axis (80) and a lever (83) biassed by a spring (88) releases the hook (81) and is mounted on the other side. The trolley runs along a track which includes a stop situated near the lower end of a curved section of track at which point the stop actuates the lever to release the load.
