Scaffolding structure with work platform - includes vertically movable platform carrying catches which releasably locate into guide rails

The scaffolding includes a work platform (1) which can be raised or lowered and which runs in guide rails (2) attached to the uprights of two scaffold towers. The platform (1) is suspended by chains from a lifting hoist (6) using a cross-beam (4) and traction wires (3, 3'). Each side of the platform contains a pivoting catch. One end of each catch locates into the guide rails whilst the other ends are interconnected by a tensioned spring (18) and are linked to the cross-beam by cables (19, 19'). When the cross-beam is raised the catches pivot and release the platform.
