The guard rail has a top and mid height traverse (11), each having a rectangular profile with a longitudinal notch (17), so that it can be retained in a slide way on post plugs (15). The plugs have square heads (14) that fit tightly in the profile of the traverses with shafts (16) shaped to cross the longitudinal notch (17). The guard rail has a bottom plank or toe board which slides between the base of the post and the foot (19), both post and foot being solid to the base plate (12) which has a hole (13) for fixing it to the ground.
