Electric fence post with single covered insulator - uses two tubular rods separated by insulator and held in sleeve, with lower rod pointed and upper rod bent into loops

The electric fence post uses a conducting rod bent to form loops (6,7,8) along its length to support electrified fence wires without need of the conventionally used insulators which can be damaged by animals thus rendering the fence ineffective. The lower part of the post has a pointed steel spike (3) enclosed inside a plastics cover (2). The plastics cover also encloses the lower part of the rod (4) holding the wires. An insulating ring (5) separates the upper and lower conducting rods to prevent short circuits to earth. The plastics cover has a flange (2) at its lower end which rests against the earth when the post is driven into the soil to provide additional stability.
