The farming method for bivalves esp. oysters involves sticking the young oysters onto a support spaced so that they do not interfere with one another as they grow. The supports are made up of a grille which comprises a series of transverse elements fixed between a pair of parallel longerons. The transverse elements (1) have hollows (2) formed in them on the upper surface into which the outer surfaces of the oyster shells (3) are glued. The whole grille is made of a plastics material which will not corrode over a long period of immersion.
