The blow-off valve uses a pre-loaded adjustable spring (16) to constrain a valve seat (10). An interchangeable housing (1) in the form of a tubular screw, incorporates the seat in a supporting element (3) which is securely fixed in the screw. The valve body is a ball (19) of which the axial sliding movements are controlled by lateral guides (8) mounted on the support (3), and the latter may be secured in a stepped length (4) of the screw bore. The guides may comprise a bore of ball dia. divided by a radial groove (7), the seat (10) being formed by stamping with a ball. A grub screw (12) with a dowel (15) may retain the spring (16) against a flanged (17) adaptor (18,19).
