摘要
Circular or band saw blades are sharpened and reset, then a layer of tungsten carbide is electrostatically deposited on the tips to prolong tooth life. The tooth tips are cold forged so the edges of the teeth are thicker than the central region. Compression of the teeth then consolidates the edges after forging. The blade is then placed in a machine containing an impulse generator which deposits tungsten carbide on the blade tips. The blade is guided between two plates is moved by a motorised roller which runs against the blade. The blade tips pass through a group of three pistols containing tungsten carbide electrodes. Two pistols are on either side of the tooth and one above. The pistons are energised by contacts on an arm which follows the tooth profile and also raises and lowers the pistol above the teeth so it follows the profile.
