The appts. uses flexural bars (3a,3d) to connect a weighing platform to its mounting. The bars (3a,3d) are firmly fixed at one end and lie on a horizontal plane to form a parallepipedic structure. A plate (4) is connected to the other end of the bars and lies in a vertical plane. A platform (5) projects perpendicularly from the plate (4) and bears the objects to be weighed. The upper part of the plate (4) is connected to the body of the appts. (1) via a strain gauge (6). When subjected to a load, the flexural bars (3a,3d) undergo elastic deformation which causes a reaction to be applied to the plate (4), allowing the platform (5) to undergo a small displacement. The displacement deforms the strain gauge (6) which is connected to a circuit actuating a display for weight on the platform (5).
