Heat protective device for workers - esp. welders working on nuclear reactor chamber construction, in chimney

Thermal protective device for protecting an operator workinq in a duct heated to a temp. which the operator cannot support, consists of a cooled chimney having a shape adapted to the profile of the chimney and centred within it. The device is used partic. for protecting manual welders e.g. filling the welding chamfer of the entry or exit tubes of a nuclear reactor chamber where the operator must work on a piece preheated to about 200 deg.C while observing xxx weld deposits to ensure the quality demanded.
