摘要
In order to reduce the contact resistance between the copper, bus bars, supplying the cells and the titanium conductors carrying the plates a connection is made between them by means of a threaded copper bolt. It is 1.9 cm in dia. screwed into a hole in the titanium bar to a depth of about an inch. A thread pitch not exceeding National Coarse is desirable for the bolt with a corresponding thread inside the hole. The bolt is inserted with a conducting grease. The head of the bolt has a 60 degree vee notch in its head which rests on a knife edge formed on the copper bus bar. The contact will carry a cell current of 300 amps with a much lower contact temp. than if the titanium bar rests directly on the copper bus bar because of the increase contact area.
