The device is used for a hand controlled motor driven cultivator and uses two pushbuttons fitted one to each handle of the cultivator and connected electrically in series so that the electric supply to the motor is automatically cut-off if one or both of the buttons is released by the driver releasing his grip on the handles. In addition to the two spring loaded normally open pushbuttons (8a,b) fitted on the handles, a lever operated contactor (6) provides on-off control of the supply to the motor. This contactor is connected in series with the pushbuttons, thus requiring that three switches are closed for the motor to run.
