The shoe for sports, has its upper in two parts (3,4) joined at the front to a tongue (7). This covers the opening (5) at the instep and is fixed to the edges of the opening by bands of hooked pile fabric (12-15) that hook together. A strap (17) is fixed to one side of the upper and passes over the top of the tongue to prevent this opening. It is held in place by bands of fabric that hook together (20,21), a buckle or press studs. The outside of the tongue has false laces (11) passing through eyelets (10).
