The hose clip comprises a metal band having a thickness or width that is a max. at its longitudinal centre (1). The thickness decreases symmetrically about the centre progressively in proportion to the distance from the centre until reaching end portions which are of constant thickness or width. The band is bent into an annular shape with the ends overlapping. The ends are provided with grippable finger portions (6) and a tongue (6) projecting radially outwardly from the annulus, the tongue fitting between the finger portions of one end.
