Artificial lure for attracting fish by release of gas bubbles - contains sodium or magnesium perborate or sodium bi:carbonate and tartaric acid, pref. with anhydrous binder e.g. nitro-cellulose

Use of a product, containing at least one substance which releases a gas when placed in water, as a bait or lure for attracting fish. Preferred gas releasing substances are sodium or magnesium perborate or a mixture of sodium bicarbonate and tartaric acid. The product also pref. contains an anhydrous binder having a volatile constituent, such as a nitrocellulosic varnish, poly(vinyl butyrate) or a vinyl acetate homopolymer. The fish are attracted to the gas bubbles which rise. The product is placed in the water at desired places or is placed in a fish trap.
