DEVICE FOR DAMPING CAR BODY VIBRATIONS DURING ENGINE IDLE OPERATION

PURPOSE:To suppress car body vibrations during an idle operation by constituting an inertial mass by use of a radiator and by supporting the radiator to the car body with an elastic vibration-absorbing support means having a specific spring constant of the natural frequency of the radiator. CONSTITUTION:In a radiator 14 consisting of upper and lower tanks 16, 20 and a radiator core 18, a short cylindrical base section 22 is molded in one body near both ends of the radiator respectively, and a lug 24 is protruded from each base section 22. An antivibration rubber mounting 34 is supported on the front cross member 10 of the car body through a bracket 20, and the lower surface of said base section 22 is supported by its horizontal upper support surface 36. On the other hand, an upper bracket 54 having a curved arm 62 stuck with an antivibration rubber member 60 inside it is provided on the upper radiator support 12 of the car body so that the upper tank 16 of the radiator 14 is supported by this bracket 54.
