CONSTITUTION:A device for embodying this invention method consists of a cylindrical vessel 1 capable of containing a pastelike kneaded material, such as paste contg. cement or the like water-hardenable powder, a filtering material 2 erected perpendicularly in the center of the vessel 1, and a separated water receiver 3 for receiving water separated and released into the material 2 from the outlet 11 of the bottom of the vessel 1, and the material 2 from the outlet 11 of the bottom of the vessel 1, and the separated water content or the held or adsorbed water content of the kneaded material can be easily and exactly obtained by measuring the received water separated from the vessel 1 and using the data of the kneaded material contained in the vessel 1.
