CONTROL AGENT AGAINST RESISTANT GREEN RICE LEAFHOPPER

PURPOSE:The titled control agent prepared by mixing phosdiphen with malathion. CONSTITUTION:A control agent against resistant green rice leafhopper, comprising a mixture of O-ethyl O,O-di(2,4-dichlorophenyl)phosphate (hereafter referred to as phosdiphen) with S-1,2-bis(ethoxycarbonyl) ethyl dimethyl phosphorothiolothionate (hereafter referred to as malathion) as the active constituents. Malathion has an insufficient insecticidal effect against a resistant green rice leafhopper, though excellently effective against a sensitive green rice leafhopper. The mixture of malathion with phosdiphen which is a control agent against rice blast without an insecticidal activity has a high control effect against a resistant green rice leafhopper which cannot be easily controlled and occurs due to the continuous use of N-methylcarbamate insecticides, and is also effective against injurious insects such as a smaller brown planthopper, a brown planthopper and pentatomids and rice blast.
