PURPOSE:To prevent a fiber texture of a steel wire material from being made spherical completely by heating the steel wire material in a hydrogen gas stream by passing a current therethrough prior to hot dipped plating to carry out the high speed fluxing. CONSTITUTION:The wire material 1 which has been subjected to the defatting, the pickling and the washing treatment is introduced into a fluxing chamber 5 through a guide pulley 2 and a contact pulley 3. A hydrogen gas stream G is introduced into said chamber 5 and a current for heating said wire material is supplied from a power source through the contact pulley 3 and a molten metal in a plating bath 6. By a heating means due to the direct electrification or high frequency in the hydrogen gas stream G in the chamber 5, the wire material 1 is subjected to the fluxing rapidly for a short time under a semiannealing or a nonannealing atmosphere. Further, a heating temp. is about 200-700 deg.C. Next, the wire material is succeedingly immersed in the plating bath 6 without being contacted with the air and, thereafter, withdrawn upwardly through a sinker roll 7.
