COOLING AND LUBRICATING DEVICE OF FORGING DIE

PURPOSE:To cool and lubricate the die recess face of a forging die effectively utilizing the space of forging operation, by providing air and lubricant jetting nozzles that link with operation of manipulator arms in the arms that hold the material of an upper and lower grip type upsetter. CONSTITUTION:A material is held by manipulator arms X-Z for each of plural die recesses A-E arranged side by side according to the process of deformation in a forging die that opens upward and downward. The material is moved to adjoining die recess of succeeding deformation process successively from A to E, and forged by upsetting of punch dies a-e. Compressed air jetting nozzles 6X-6Z directed forward and obliquely downward are provided on the back of the arms X-Z. At the same time, lubricant jetting nozzles 7X-7Z, 8X-8Z are a little rear of above-mentioned nozzles directing forward and obliquely downward, and obliquely upward respectively. Air and lubricant are jetted from each nozzle when arms X-Z advance between dies to hold the material when dies are opened.
