SPEED CHANGE CONTROL METHOD OF STEPLESS OR STEPPED AUTOMATIC SPEED CHANGER

PURPOSE:To improve effectiveness of an engine brake, by holding a speed changer to a fixed speed change for a certain time at a rapid decrease of depression of an accelerator pedal. CONSTITUTION:In steps 901-936, under a condition with a car speed higher than a fixed value further with a brake pedal not in depression, if a throttle opening TH is rapidly returned to an idle condition, a condition of speed change ratio before decreasing the opening TH is maintained for a certain time. Accordingly, when an accelerator pedal is rapidly returned to the idle condition, a suitable engine brake is applied to improve both driveability and safety.
