PURPOSE:To efficiently collect zinc and contained valuables at a low cost, by blown-smelting a zinc sintered ore into a smelting furnace together with a reducing agent and oxygen enriched air, and condensing and collecting the generated zinc vapor by a condenser provided in one body with the smelting furnace. CONSTITUTION:A smelting furnace 10 and a condenser 11 are formed in one body, by which a furnace body 1 is formed. A molten metal bath consisting of a slag phase 2 having composition which is almost equal to an Fe/SiO2 ratio in a zinc sintered ore, and a coarse lead phase 3 of its lower part is formed in advance in a smelting furnace 10, a reducing agent such as a zinc sintered ore, coke breeze, fine coal, etc., and oxygen enriched air of about 30% are blown into said molten metal bath through a lance 5 from the upper part, and not only zinc vapor and generated gas are obtained, but also valuables such as gold, siver, etc. are caught by the coarse lead phase 3. The zinc vapor is condensed and collected by a pool 6 in which lead or zinc has been melted to about 500 650 deg.C, in a condenser 11 provided with an agitator 9, and also waste gas of a high temperature and high calory, consisting of CO, CO2, N2, etc. is obtained.
