Trench digging unit for pipe or cable laying - using towing carriage in trench with inclinometer of specified sensitivity and response time

The unit is intended for digging (2) a trench (6) or sub-soil ploughing a passage, particularly for laying, or during laying, of a drain pipe (5), cable etc. A carriage (11) drawn through the excavation during the operation is provided with an inclinometer with a minimum sensitivity for longitudinal slope variations of 30 seconds of arc and a response time such that, at the forward speed of digging, a slope variation of 30 seconds over a distance of 0.5 m is detected. The carriage may be drawn (by the digging machine 1) along the upper surface of the pipe or cable.
