ABSTRACTThere are described compounds of formula I, Iin which an adjacent pair of R5, R6, R7 and R8 form a chain-CZC(G1)=C(G2)-Z-,R4, R9 and the remainder of R5, R6, R7 and R8, which may be thesame or different, each represent hydrogen, alkyl, halogen, alkenyl,-NO2, -NH1R2, -OR3, -S(O)nR3; or alkyl substituted by hydroxy, amino,alkoxy or carbonyl oxygen,n is 0, 1 or 2,R1 and R2, which may be the same or different, each representhydrogen, alkyl, -CONHR3, phenyl or phenyl substituted by alkyl orhalogen, or R1 and R2 together with the nitrogen atom to which theyare attached form a 5 or 6 membered heterocyclic ring,R3 represents hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl or phenyl,one of G1 and G2 is hydrogen and the other is a group B,each B, which may be the same or different, is -COOH, a5-tetrazoly group, or a carboximidoterazole group,each Z, which may be the same or different, is oxygen or sulphur, andone or two of the atoms a, b, c and d are nitrogen atomsand the remainder are carbon atoms, R9 having no significancewhen two of a, b, c and d are nitrogen,(with certain exclusions)and pharmaceutically acceptable derivatives thereof,There are also described methods for making the compoundsand pharmaceutical, e.g. anti-allergic, compositions andmixtures containing them,The described compounds of formula I are useful aspharmaceutical, e.g. anti-allergic, agents.
