ENHANCED OIL RECOVERY EMPLOYING BLEND OF CARBON DIOXIDEINERT GAS AND INTERMEDIATE HYDROCARBONS(PR 5210)(D#77,149-F)ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREOil may be recovered from dipping reservoirs by aconditionally miscible oil recovery process in which agaseous, carbon dioxide-containing fluid is injected up-dipto displace petroleum downward in a conditionally miscible,gravity-stabilized displacement process. Carbon di-oxide-containing blending stock is mixed with an inert gassuch as methane or nitrogen in order to reduce its densitysufficiently to increase the critical velocity of the dis-placement process. By increasing the critical velocity, thetime required to deplete a reservoir is decreased signifi-cantly. Sufficient intermediate hydrocarbons are added tothe mixture of carbon dioxide and inert gas to insure thatthe mixture injected into the formation is conditionallymiscible at formation temperature and pressure.-1-
