DEVICE FOR AUTOMATICALLY CONTROLLING THEBRAKING FORCE OF AN EDDY CURRENT AND/OR FRICTIONTRACK BRAKE BEING INFINITELY VARIABLE BY MEANSOF SHIFTABLE OR TURNABLE PERMANENT MAGNETSABSTRACTA shiftable or turnable permanent magnetic eddycurrent and/or friction track brake which automaticallyreduces the friction braking forces to usable limits asthe vehicle slows down. The brake is movably supportedon the vehicle in the line of movement and is biased inthe direction of movement by resilient means, When thebrake frictionally engages the track, it moves against thebiasing means which shifts the magnets to a partly brak-ing off position to reduce the friction forces.
