METHOD FOR PURIFYING EXHAUST GASES CONTAINING NOXIOUS PRODUCTS AND INSTALLATION FOR IMPLEMENTING SUCH METHOD

A method for purifying exhaust gases containing noxious products as well as an installation for implementing such method particularly intended to boiler rooms are described. In a cheminee (8), an exhaust gas conduit (9) is arranged wherein a purifying liquid conduit (12) opens into its upper portion. The liquid is sprayed counter to the gases to be purified which flow upwardly within the exhaust conduit (9). Moreover, the purifying liquid contains additives which react with and fix the noxious products in the exhaust gases. The liquid, withdrawn from a storage tank (16), finally circulates downwardly within the exhaust conduit (9) and is brought back in said tank (16). The tank is preferably built up as a combined storage, sedimentation and reaction receptacle, wherein the solid products formed during the washing can settle and wherein the purifying liquid regenerate. Heat exchangers (7, 17, 18) are provided to extract from the exhaust gases the heat that would otherwise be exhausted with the gases without being used.
