Process for the preparation of superheated steam by heat exchange with a methanisation synthesis gas comprising carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and hydrogen, as well as an apparatus for performing the process
In a method for generating superheated steam in heat exchange with a synthesis gas containing carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and hydrogen to be catalytically methanated, a partial flow of the synthesis gas initially flows to at least one first internally cooled reactor in which saturated steam is formed. This partial stream is then combined with the rest of the synthesis gas, at least one adiabatic reactor with a downstream heat exchanger in which the saturated steam is superheated, and a second internally cooled reactor which receives fresh water as the coolant. In order to make the methanation of the synthesis gas more economical, the fresh water is preheated in the second internally cooled reactor and converted into saturated steam in the first internally cooled reactor. An apparatus for performing the method is shown in Figure 1.
