In a system of multi-channel data display, in particular EEG data, the values received from an array of electrodes encephalography (46) are stored in a random access memory (92). The numerical values displayed are interpolated from the input values by addressing data selected from the input data from the memory (92), by multiplying (118) these entries by predetermined coefficients extracted from a memory coefficients (6) and summing the products (126). Each element of the display (42) can be determined in this way for a frame length of the display device. The data can be interpolated in real time to a display flicker-free to a higher speed is 25 frames per second. Displaying separated values associated with each display element of different colors (40), the dimensional capability of the display can be increased.
