Preparation of Mixed Extract of Garagean and Locust Bean Gum

摘要

A mixed extract of carageenan and locust bean gum was manufd. Seaweeds of Asteriidae were treated in alkali soln., washed, and boiled in water with locust bean gum, in which small quantity of KCl added, filtrated, gelled, pressed, dewatered, dried, and crushed to give mixed extract of carageenan and locust bean gum. The production cost by this method was chiefer than alcohol-precipitating method.
