This invention is a gear reducer with a torque restriction device for the use with a jack pinion. This gear reducer is divided into two parts, the first reducer and the second reducer. The first reducer is directly connected to a pinion shaft and pontoon supporting body, and the second reducer, the main reducer, has a brake and a motor connected to the shaft of the first reducer. The reaction arm of the planitary main reducer is connected to the immovable position of the jack via a hydraulic device. A facing guider defines the movement of the guided rack. The reaction arm of the main reducer is a tooth- wheel (gear) engaging with the guided rack.
