The holder rail or hanger is designed to accommodate towels or other items. The holder consists of at least one support (11) to which at least one bar is attached. It is e.g. a telescopic bar over which the towel is hung. There is a second support which is detachably fixed to the first one (11) on which a holder slides (21,22). The holder (21,22) can be locked in a required position with the aid of a detachable attachment member (16,23).
