The operational ignition coil's secondary winding is replaced by an additional ignition circuit with an auxiliary ignition coil whose secondary winding delivers the h.v. ignition pulses. H.v generated in secondary winding forms the control signal for the ignition pulse generation in the coil's secondary winding. A control device delivers intermittent control voltage, and a switching device precedes the additional ignition circuit. The switch passes the tripping pulses to the ignition circuit or stops spark generation, depending on the control voltage.
