An extruder/injection moulding nozzle has a central bore containing a filter tube with fine perforations. This tube is a cylinder with dia. appreciably less than the bore i.d. and its perforations are in its side wall. Arrangement produces absolutely uniform material, low resistance to flow and hence little frictional heat generated, no "dead" areas.
