The shut-off nozzle (1) has a cylindrical nozzle housing (8), which extends from a melt distributor (10) to an injection mold (4) through an intermediate plate (12). An axial feed hole (14) is provided in the nozzle housing, which is impinged with molten plastic material over a feed hole (16) in melt distributor. A cylindrical protrusion is provided at the end of the nozzle housing, where the end faces the injection mold. An outlet opening is formed at the outer circumferential surface of the cylindrical protrusion. The protrusion is received in a sleeve-shaped receiving section in the wall of the injection mold.
