Trigger device for a Panzerfaust (standard German anti-tank weapon)

The invention relates to a trigger device for a portable, recoilless anti-tank weapon, as is known (in Germany) by the name Panzerfaust. This weapon comprises a barrel with a propulsion charge, a shaped-charge round and an ignition set; the trigger device and barrel are detachably connected to one another and the trigger device has a force store for operating a hammer, a cocking device for cocking the force store, a trigger for releasing the force store and knocking of the hammer, as well as safety elements to prevent the shot being released inadvertently and a locking device for connection to the barrel. In order to make possible deliberate release of a shot reliably and on the other hand to achieve a high level of safety against inadvertent and accidental release, the trigger device has a pistol grip which can be pivoted about a shaft which is provided in the region of its end on the weapon side, the pistol grip being hollow and open on its narrow side so that, in the pivoted-in position, it engages under and covers the trigger, the pistol grip at the same time being constructed as the cocking device and being cocked via a cocking lever while the force store is being pivoted out.
