According to the invention, the switch is therefore designed such that, in the switching-on movement, the shortest separation, initiating the transient arc, initially occurs only between the erosion-resistant arc electrodes (8, 9) and that the spatially separated continuous current contact part (3) on the moving switch-piece (2) interacts thereafter only with the continuous current contact part (5) on the fixed switch-piece (6) for carrying the current.
