Process and equipment for producing road-building asphalt mix material

The process is used for producing flowable normal road-building asphalt mix material, to which, however, only a fraction of the otherwise required bitumen must be added during the production. This is achieved by means of breaking up an asphalt road surface into coarse lumps to give tabular large lumps, collecting and introducing the large lumps into a funnel-shaped, large melting oven with a coaxial vertical stirrer, a heating coil system, heat-insulated from the outside, in the oven wall and with a heatable retaining grate, underneath which a batchwise-operating horizontal wave mixer is arranged which is to receive and mix the molten asphalt mix material emerging from the lower outlet port of the large oven and from which mix material is conveyed by a continuous inclined conveyor into a heatable tall silo.
