In the case of brine circuits mounted in the open air or buried in the ground as pipe coils, the efficiency decreases on icing such that the operation of this apparatus is no longer economical. Leaks due to corrosion are also very problematical, the soil and ground water being contaminated with escapes of brine, coolant and oils. To eliminate these disadvantages, water heat is extracted with an ice preparer. Water heat is extracted down to the minus region by this extraction apparatus. The resulting bodies of ice are transported to the open air and fall into a collecting container, beneath which water-conducting plates and water containers are arranged. The water is conducted by a pump into the ice-collecting container; the ice melts, and the melt water is again heated on the water-conducting plates and used again for heat extraction. During operation below the frost limit, the pump is switched off, and conduit, ground or other water is used for extraction. The resulting ice bodies are aggregated until they are melted again by reaching the exterior temperature above 0 DEG C due to solar heat, and are returned to the ground water. When the temperature rises, the pump for circuit operation is switched on again.
