A case lock, especially briefcase lock, which can be used both as a key-operated lock and as a number-combination lock possesses a spring-loaded locking bolt (13) which is displaceable in a lock housing (1) and the closed position of which can be blocked by a blocking device likewise arranged in the lock housing. This blocking device comprises an electric motor (7) of reversible direction of rotation, which is equipped with a reduction gear and to the driveshaft (9) of which is fastened a crank member (20), on which is articulated a blocking bolt (21) which selectively blocks or releases the locking bolt. By means of only one lock, the case can be locked at two points arranged at a distance from one another, if two blocking bolts (21), each assigned a locking bolt (13), are articulated diametrically opposite one another on the crank member.
