The conveyor-chain (2) in the conveyor duct (1) consists of a single or double chain which runs along the side wall of the duct provided with friction strips. An elastic, smooth or ridged pressure-bar (6) conveys the crop to a point where the two conveyor-ducts join. The plant-stalks are conveyed by a strip (8) with a blade-type outer edge (10). The conveyor-chain (2) runs from a drive-pinion over a guide-pinion and a cutter to a junction-point and then in a combined conveyor-duct to the drive-pinion and discharge-point.
