Two group card sorter developed for three groups - uses axially movable roller pair with data dependent position off setting selected cards relative to stack

A device for sorting data cards into groups dependent on the information they carry is developed without fundamental modification to handle three group card sorting. The cards are extracted from a magazine (1), passed along a path (2) sorted into groups dependent on data read by a reader, and fed to a stacker (3). The order of the cards in the groups remains as in the original magazine. Three pairs of rollers are placed along the path (16-18) the second pair (18) movable wrt the rotation axis so as to offset the cards delivered to the third pair (19). The movement of the second roller pair is dependent on the card data.
