The missile storage container has a humidity controlled atmosphere and is constructed from a rigid plastic foam lining on a metal frame (1), having sealed hinged doors (6, 7) fitted. Inside, a partition (3) provides two compartments, and a layer (8) of hygroscopic material between mesh sides (9) forms a wall in each compartment (5). A hygrostat (14) is fitted to monitor the moisture content in each compartment, this controlling a hydrator pump (13). The internal air is removed (16) near the floor and passed (15) into the pump for treatment, being recirculated (10, 11, 12) into each compartment behind (465a) the hygroscopic layer. The air then passes through the hygroscope layer back into the storage area.
