Building system using prefabricated wall panels - has support posts fixed directly to in-situ concrete floor slab without ring beam

The building construction system uses prefabricated wall panels (4, 5) fixed to vertical posts n2) which are in turn fixed to an in situ floor slab (1). The posts (2) are fixed directly to the slab (1) and the panels (4) bear on the slab, thus dispensing with the need for a peripheral ring beam. The post fixing may use vertical anchorage plates (12) with a horizontal plate (3) contelivering from one side. The anchorage (12) is grouted into pockets (10) in the slab (1) with the cantilever (13) providing a seat for the base of a post (2). Holes (15) in the top provide for fixing the post (2) by bolting. The panels (4) may be square with internal edge flanges (21) and stiffening ribs (20).
