Retractable mould-top for concrete floor slab - has rolling deck on beams hung from overhead portals spanning prior cast side walls

The retractable soffit-shuttering unit is for utilisation in the construction of the floor slabs (7) of multi-storey reinforced concrete framed buildings. The unit comprises a shuttered deck (1, 3) and a sub-structural support frame (5, 6, 9, 13, 14). The frame comprises transverse beams (5) on hangers (6) from overhead portal frames (13, 14) spanning between previously cast side walls (12). The deck displace longitudinally relative to the frame with longerons (3) running on rollers (4). Winged nuts (9) on threaded sections of the hangers permit adjustment of the transverse beams relative to the portals. The shutter is struck by lowering effected through unwinding of the nuts until second nuts (10) take support from the now cast slab.
